"We have been nominated as the People‘s Favourite Restaurant - reaching the Top 5 out of 800 nominations. We have two weeks voting time to get us to be the favourite. Please take a second to nominate via the link below"

Star Bistro is pleasantly tucked away in the Cotswolds delivering wonderful lunches, afternoon teas and coffees.

Located on The Cotswold Way in the grounds of Ullenwood Manor, we offer some of the finest products from the beautiful landscapes of Gloucestershire, The Cotswolds and South West of England.

All the food is prepared simply, tastefully and in season by The Wiggly Worm team with the great support of students from the National Star College.

All the students we train have learning or physical disabilities. By providing a supportive workplace in an accessible yet real learning environment, we are enabling them to gain skills and confidence to do better, with the intention to help them enter future employment.

Students work in the kitchen helping to prepare and cook our dishes, or front of house, setting up and serving in the restaurant. All are acquiring essential skills which they can carry with them for life, many working towards qualifications in food preparation or customer service.

All this is achieved whilst serving exceptional bistro food.

We are delighted to have recently been awarded a 2014 Certificate of Excellence by TripAdvisor for our top reviews from our lovely customers, who have rated us one of the best restaurants to eat in Cheltenham, and in the top three restaurants in the Cotswolds.

Our menus change monthly and with the seasons. Guest dishes may include confit duck with herb mash, wild mushrooms on toasted homemade brioche, or a locally inspired cassoulet or game pithivier. We pride ourselves on our inclusivity - if you have any special dietary requirements then please let us know, we will do our best to accommodate you.

The bistro opened in early 2012 and has been an amazing journey for the team and students, receiving fantastic reviews in Cotswold Life, Cotswold Style, BBC Radio Gloucestershire.

Highlights have included hosting the Civic reception for Gloucestershire's Olympic and Paralympic athletes who did us all proud in London 2012. In addition we won the Cotswold Life Editor's Choice Award in 2013 for our appearance on ITV's Food Glorious Food where our students devised a Pimm's Jelly which made it to the final. We are very proud to have achieved the highest rating of 3 stars from the Sustainable Restaurant Association in 2014, as well as a Gold Tourism Award for accessibility.

Not only this, but by providing a real-life training environment for students from the National Star College, we are making a real difference to their future.

“The Star Bistro is a joint investment between The Wiggly Worm and the National Star College. Providing a quality dining experience for our customers, using the finest local ingredients and in doing so developing a truly local and sustainable supply chain, while providing a safe, real world learning and working environment for our students and volunteers”
Rob Rees MBE - CE The Wiggly Worm.
